Privacy Policy

This policy covers PixelateImage.co (the "site"), run by Atharv Tathe. The short version: the images you edit never leave your device, and the only data the site collects is anonymous usage statistics through Google Analytics.

Your images

Every effect on this site (pixelate, blur, and solid box) runs inside your web browser using the HTML canvas. Images are never uploaded, sent to a server, or stored by us. We cannot see them.

• The image and its file name stay on your device. The file name is only used locally to name your download.
• Downloads are rebuilt from pixel data, so they do not carry the original photo's EXIF metadata, such as GPS location, capture time, or camera model.
• When you close or reload the page, the image is gone from the site's memory.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which pages and features are useful. Google Analytics collects:

• The pages you view, how you arrived (for example, a search engine or a link), and how long you stay.
• Your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, and language.
• Your approximate location (country and city), which Google derives from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
• Two events from the tool: that an image was opened, and how (upload, drag and drop, or paste), and that an image was downloaded, with the effect, the area mode, and the file format used. No image content, file name, or other detail about your image is sent.

Google Analytics stores this using cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to two years. We use the data in aggregate only. We do not use it to identify you, we do not sell it, and the site shows no advertising. Google processes the data under the Google Privacy Policy.

To opt out, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, block cookies for this site in your browser settings, or use a content blocker. The tool works exactly the same either way.

Server logs

Like any website, the company that hosts this site keeps standard server logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse. These typically include your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. We do not combine them with analytics data or use them to identify visitors.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, sign-ups, or email addresses.
• No payment information. The tool is free.
• No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of our own.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA give you rights over personal data, including access, correction, deletion, and objection. Because we hold no account or image data, the only personal data involved is what Google Analytics records, which is not linked to your name or contact details. You can stop it at any time using the opt-out options above.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
